ane started dj ing 12 years
ago and played house music in that time. It is her opinion that the beginning
of the nineties was definitely the best period for house music. It was
totally new, and the whole movement fascinated a lot. She was playing
mostly Chicago and Detroit stuff in clubs all over Belgium. In the beginning
of the famous Food parties in Leuven, she played along famous dj's like
Kenny Hawkes, Stacey Pullen and Derrick May,'
ut,
around 95, she got a bit bored with the house music scene as it didn't
touch her anymore the way used to. The crowd got younger and it wasn't
about the music anymore. At that time, she started buying more electronical
music and went to look for real old Detroit acid and techno, and sometimes
she found new electro records, but they were very rare. In clubs, they
didn't book her anymore, because her music was too weird and not commercial
enough. (what do they know anyway)
nd
then, luckily, electro became fashionable and trendy. New clubs opened
and suddenly electro clubs were the only cool place to hang out.
In
the mean time, Jane played in London, Amsterdam, Paris, Spain and everywhere
in Belgium. She played with Andrea Parker, Felix the Housecat, Queen of
Japan, Blackstrobe, I-f, Ladytron, DJ Unknown, 2 Many DJ's, Erol, Grom,
Electric Indigo, Michael Mayer and many more.
ince
a couple of months now, Jane is also deejaying weekly at her own Cat Club
night in Brussels, which was designed by Jane herself, for a mainly 'Gay'
crowd.
